Welcome to the first post in a series leading up to the release of Remember My Royalty, my historical novel about the Highland Clearances and the Texas Revolution. I’ve got an exciting lineup of posts coming between now and March 6th, so I hope you’ll join me as I share lots of behind the scenes. I’ll be discussing the theme of the story, where it came from, how I came to use so many real people in the story, and much more.
And today, I have something exciting to share with you. I’ve spent many long hours and months on this project, tweaking and re-tweaking it. So may I present to you the trailer for Remember My Royalty!
Let’s check out a few stats for the story. The paperback copy is 598 pages long.
The story stands at 148,092 words, making it longer than A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens.
The book is broken up into four volumes, much as lengthy books were done in the 19th century.
The Cast of Characters at the front of the book contains 67 characters. Out of those 67, only 7 are fictional characters. The rest were real people, who were really involved in the revolution in one way or another.
Now let’s take a peak inside the book. Since this is an old-fashioned story, I wanted the book to look as old-fashioned as possible. And my formatter did an amazing job bringing my dreams to life.

Each of the four books has it’s own title page.

As you can see in the picture, each chapter begins with an epigraph. Most of them are either from Scottish or Texan poetry.
And there you have it: a peek inside Remember My Royalty. Of course I haven’t showed you everything that there is to see, but this gives you an idea of just how lovely my formatter made it.
If this sounds like a book you would be interested in reading, here are the pre-order links.
Pssst, if you pre-order, you’ll get the following goodies at no extra charge:
