From My Devotions

Bread of Life & the Bible

There is so much to praise and thank the Lord for! All through the Bible we find reason after reason to give God praise. God is limitless, without end. And we will never run out of reasons for praising Him. Today, we’ll be looking at a few of those reasons that begin with the letter B, including the Bread of Life and the Blood of Jesus

Bible

2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The Bible is God’s message to us, and just as we will never run out of reasons for praising God, we will never run out of things to learn from the Bible.

Bread of Life

bread and John 6:35 | Bread of Life

Each of us has an inner spiritual hunger that only Jesus, the Bread of Life, can fill, and He will completely satisfy that hunger.

Blood of Jesus

Revelation 1:5

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.

When Jesus came to earth, He came to die, to shed His blood, to provide a way of forgiveness for us.

Matthew 26:28

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

It was the only way that we could be forgiven for our sins.

Hebrews 9:22

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Jesus was willing to sacrifice His life so that we could be forgiven. And I am so glad He did.

Bestower of Blessings

Ephesians 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

We are so richly blessed. And each and every blessing comes directly from God Himself.

James 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Belonging

I am so thankful to belong to the family of God! Each one of us who have believed in Jesus for salvation is a part of this family.

1 John 3:1-2

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Conclusion:

What are you praising God for today? Praising Him isn’t a suggestion; it’s a command. A command repeated again and again in the Bible. And the more you do it, the more you realize just how much there is to praise Him for!
