Tornado Tragedy

Meet the Hardings Part 3

Today it’s time for the final post in my series of character interviews featuring characters from my book Tornado Tragedy. Our last three interviews are with Elena, Amanda, and Benjamin Harding. We’ll start with Elena.

Elena’s Interview:

Before I start asking you the questions, could you tell us a little about yourself?

Sure! I’m Elena, and I’m fourteen years old. One of my favorite things to do is play my flute, and I also enjoy doing crafts and various household tasks.

What is your favorite color?

My favorite color isn’t a very common favorite color. It’s orange, a very bright and cheery color.

If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

While I love the family I’ve been adopted into, if I could change one thing, it would be for my own Daddy and Mama to still be here on earth.

Where is your happy place?

My happy place is in the kitchen baking. I like baking cookies and brownies and pretty much any dessert.

Name one person who has had a big impact on your life and tell how they have done so.

Mom, my adopted mom that is, has had a big impact on my life. She has taught me all the things I know my own Mama would have taught me had the Lord allowed her to remain longer here on earth.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

I’m an introvert and enjoy being with just my family.

How do you feel about being a character in a book?

I think it’s exciting!

What do you hope will be accomplished by having your story shared with the world?

I enjoy helping people every chance I get, so I hope this story will be used by God to help even more people to learn some valuable lessons.

Amanda’s Interview:

Now it’s time to interview Amanda. Could you tell us a little about yourself, Mandy?

Okay. I’m Amanda, and I’m the youngest girl in our family. I’m twelve, and I enjoy doing crafts as well as pretty much anything considered girly.

What is your favorite color?

My favorite color is purple.

If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

It would be nice if my sister Jennie was less of a tomboy and easier to get along with. We’re complete opposites, and we share a room, so it’s not always easy for us to get along.

Where is your happy place?

My happy place is anywhere that I can be all dressed up in a pretty dress.

Name one person who has had a big impact on your life and tell how they have done so.

My oldest sister Joanna has had a pretty big impact on my life. She’s helped me with my music and also taught me some of the crafts I enjoy doing.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

I’m an extrovert. I love spending time with my friends.

How do you feel about being a character in a book?

I’m excited about it, but I’m also a little nervous about how I’m portrayed in the story. I hope it’s in a good way!

What do you hope will be accomplished by having your story shared with the world?

I hope the readers will enjoy it and learn some things from it.

Benjamin’s Interview:

And now it’s time for our last interview. This time, we will be getting to know Benjamin, the youngest member of the Harding family. Benjamin, why don’t you tell us a little about yourself?

I’m Benjamin, and I’m ten years old. I really like reading and learning new things. Here’s something I just learned recently. Did you know that if you took the largest thing man has discovered, like outer space, and put it at one end of a scale, and then took the smallest thing man has discovered, like an electron or something like that, and put it at the other end of a scale, that man would be exactly in the middle?

Really? That’s interesting. Now for our questions. What is your favorite color?

My favorite color is medium to dark blue.

If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

I really wish I had some memories of Mama. She died when I was a baby. So if I could, I’d change things to where I could remember her and what she was like, like my sister Elena can.

Where is your happy place?

My happy place is anywhere that it is quiet enough for me to read.

Name one person who has had a big impact on your life and tell how they have done so.

Lots of authors have impacted my life. They have taught me a lot of new things and helped me learn important lessons.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

I’m an introvert. I do enjoy spending time with my friend at church, but I like my books even more.

How do you feel about being a character in a book?

I’m very excited about it! And I can’t wait to find out what the title of the book is, so I can find it and read it! But at the same time, I’m a little nervous. Characters in books often have really bad things happen to them, and I can’t help wondering, will I be one of those characters?

What do you hope will be accomplished by having your story shared with the world?

I hope it will be enjoyable for the readers, and I hope that they will learn the lessons the author is trying to teach through it since learning from stories is a good way to learn important life lessons.

Thank you Elena, Amanda, and Benjamin for letting me interview y’all! I enjoyed it and hope you did as well.
